MSci Childhood Studies with Innovation, Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, University of Bristol, 2019
In 2019 I designed and successfully secured approval for a four-year Integrated Master’s degree, MSci Childhood Studies with Innovation, expanding the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship’s undergraduate innovation provision. I led the academic and strategic case for the programme, arguing for the inclusion of Childhood Studies students as a vital contribution to the Centre’s interdisciplinary culture and knowledge base.
As principal lead, I was responsible for developing and gaining approval for both the academic and business cases, navigating the complex governance structures of the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, the School of Education, and wider University of Bristol policies. The programme was approved in summer 2019, with the first cohort recruited in September 2020.
Students from Childhood Studies with Innovation have since become a significant and valued part of the Centre’s taught programmes, enriching interdisciplinary learning through perspectives grounded in education, care, and social practice.
