Outstanding Teaching Award 2024: Arts SU & London College of Communication, UAL
I was honored to receive the Outstanding Teaching Award 2024, voted for by students at the University of the Arts London. This award recognises one staff member per college who demonstrates exceptional teaching and impact.
In my role as Acting Course Leader for the BA (Hons) User Experience Design at London College of Communication, I focused on supporting students and staff, and embedding inclusive, research-led teaching practices. The award reflects the students’ appreciation for a creative, engaging, and accessible learning environment that encourages innovation and supports diverse student development.
Excepts from nominations for the award by UXD students
"Keir stands out as an exemplary course leader who prioritizes both your future and mental well-being. His inclusive nature and openness about his ADHD have been incredibly beneficial, particularly for someone like me who shares the same condition; he fully embraces it. Such understanding and acceptance are seldom seen among staff members."
"Mr. Williams exemplifies a natural inclination to support each student's creative journey. We need more educators like him who understand the vision of the student and foster a conducive creative environment. I've enrolled in UAL, envisioning lectures that resonate with this ethos."

"Dr Williams joined us in September as the UX course leader and he has brought so much colour into the class and course. I want to nominate Dr Williams because not only is he skilled at his job, it is also clear that he cares about it too which reflects a lot of positive qualities about his character. This is evidenced in the way he seeks to make the course fun, interactive, how he develops positive relations with his students and makes time for them sometimes beyond his working hours e.g. lunch breaks to provide constructive feedback. We have absolutely loved having him on our course and hope he is recognised for his role as he deserves it!"
